
I think the beauty of Palermo can only be seen when you allow yourself to be surprised by sudden sights, alleyways, by a sky dimly lit with the glow of a window.
Monte Pellegrino, the most beautiful cape in the world… historically it is one of the symbols of Palermo and as a matter of fact it does not matter from which part of the city you look at it from, or which of its rocky faces it is showing you: it is utterly beautiful. On the top of the mountain there is the Sanctuary of Santa Rosalia, our patron saint. Driving along via dei Cantieri, going to Mondello, you will get this view, including Castello Utveggio.
Just imagine my surprise when I turned round the corner, going from Piazza Magione to via della Vetriera, and saw this huge murals. Yesterday was sunny and the color of the green, green grass created a strong contrast with the red in the picture.
